Study on container rain of bagged flour during "grain transportation from south to North"
1. Materials and Methods
1.1 Experimental material
In this test, standard 20-foot containers were used, and each container was loaded with 23 tons of flour. HE173 temperature and humidity recorder produced by Shenzhen Huatu Measurement and Control System Co., Ltd. was used in the transportation process. 7 pieces of 1.4kg calcium chloride desiccants were used, as shown in the figure.

1.2 Experimental method
The comparison group was used in this experiment, as shown in the table, to study the causes of container rain during container transportation of bagged flour. The containers are loaded from Shunde, Guangdong, transported by sea to Shanghai port via Guangzhou New Port, and then transported to destination Huzhou by land.
Table 1 Basic information of containers
No. | Air vent closed or not | Desiccant used or not | Temperature and humidity recorder |
1# | yes | not | yes |
2# | yes | yes | yes |
1.3 The transport route of container
Container 1# and Container 2# are both loaded with 23 tons of flour bags (the outer bags are woven bags), which departed from Ronggui Shunde, to Guangzhou New Port. After passing China's coastal waters in the west Pacific Ocean, they arrived at Shanghai Port, and then to the destination by land, the whole journey time span was from December 20, 2021 to January 8, 2022. The time and location of the container are shown in the table.
Container transport route versus time chart
12.20 / 17 :0 | 12.24 / 8 :00 | 4 | GZ Xingang |
12.24 / 8 :00 | 12.31 / 13 :00 | 7 | By sea from GZ to Shanghai |
12.31 / 13 : 00 | 1. 4 / 3 :00 | 4 | Shanghai port |

3. Conclusion
1. Placing a desiccant inside a container can reduce the humidity inside a container to a certain extent.
2. In the process of transporting bagged flour by container, the impact of sea transportation is the least. The longer the time stays in the port, the more likely container rain will occur.
3. When bagged flour, a commodity with a high moisture content, is transported through containers, the interflow between containers and the outside world is conducive to discharging the moist air inside containers, and sealing the ventilation holes of containers will make container rain more likely to occuer.
